What is GymAbility?

Five Dock Leisure Centre is proud to offer a program which caters for children who have a disability that impacts on their physical ability. Our GymAbility program provides participants with experiences that target the development of physical abilities through beginner friendly gymnastics-based movements.

Our Term 4, 2021 program will be running for 6 sessions, commencing on Sunday 31st October, 2021 - Sunday 5th December, 2021

  • Sundays 12:45pm - 1:30pm (45 mins)
  • Children aged 5 -16 years
  • $50.40 per term (6 weeks @ $8.40/lesson)
  • Annual Registration $51.50 (expires on Friday, 31 December 2021)
  • 1 x $8.40 trial class permitted before full term payment of the program is required

The class is structured with a variety of beneficial exercises including:

  • Basic Gymnastics
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Body Awareness
  • Fitness Skills

GymAbility will take place in our fully equipped gymnasium, utilising sprung floor and multiple trampolines. Each lesson will consist of a warm up involving familiar exercises to prepare the children for the movements of the lesson. Skills and activities will form the bulk of the lessons, all designed to improve and develop each child’s abilities. Each lesson will conclude with a cool-down.

 

All participants are required to have one parent/carer supporting and assisting them throughout the class, alongside our qualified staff members. 

As of Term 4 2021, the parent/carer must be fully vaccinated in order to come into the centre and assist with the class. 

All patrons must check-in with the Service NSW QR code

Adults and children aged 12+ must wear a mask when entering the centre and during the class, while participating in non-strenous exercise.

 

Bookings are essential and must be made with payment at reception. Spaces are limited so please see our friendly staff to secure a spot.
