We are always working to improve the quality of our recreational and competitive gymnastic programs. To achieve these improvements, we have moved to a more developmentally based training system. This means that our training programs are more closely aligned to each gymnast’s current skill and developmental level, with less emphasis on age-based segmentation.

There is currently a wide range of gymnast skill levels in our classes. We aim to sub-group gymnasts according to their current skill and developmental level using the results of gymnast assessments. We progress gymnasts to higher levels in recreational and competitive programs on a gradual and systematic basis to support gymnast safety and improve confidence.

In addition to the enhancement of the class structure, our plan includes the development of a more structured approach to training programs. If you're interested in becoming an accredited coach (via Gymnastics Australia coach education framework) and having the opportunity to be provided on-the-job training as a Five Dock Leisure Centre Foundations Coach, express your interest via email to: info@fdlc.com.au.

Gala Days

Twice per year we conduct assessments for Foundation Levels 1 and 2, where parents and family members can come and observe on Gala Days. This assists us to better align our training programs to each gymnast’s current skill and developmental level, and enables us to recommend changes to class times, if appropriate. Please feel free to discuss your child's progress with your child's coach. For more information on Gala Days, please reach out via email to: info@fdlc.com.au.
