Device information

Website pathway

When you visit a website, your pathway from one page to another and the time spent on each page is collected.

The Centres may engage third-party platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, MailChimp, Hotjar) to manage services such as bookings, newsletters, and user analytics. When you provide information via these platforms, you are subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. The Centres take reasonable steps to ensure third parties handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW).

Email newsletters

The Centres use Mailchimp to distribute e-newsletters and manage email subscriptions. When you sign up to receive email updates, Mailchimp collects your email address and may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver its service.      

Marketing tools
Google Analytics and Hotjar

The Centres use digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Hotjar, to help understand how users engage with this website. These tools collect information such as pages visited, time spent, device type, browser, IP address (in anonymised form), and general location.

  • Google Analytics stores data across multiple countries. IP addresses are anonymised prior to storage. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Hotjar uses cookies and similar technologies to record interactions such as clicks, scrolling and navigation. Hotjar stores data in Ireland and anonymises IP addresses by default. You can opt out by visiting Hotjar’s opt-out page.

The Centres may collect personal information through their websites, including when you:

  • Subscribe to updates or mailing lists,
  • Make a booking or payment,
  • Use online forms or applications,
  • Submit an enquiry or feedback.

Information is collected either voluntarily or where required by law. The purpose of the collection will be clearly stated at the time or will be apparent from the context.

Personal data is stored on secure servers in controlled environments and accessed only by authorised personnel of the Centres or the City of Canada Bay. The Centres take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure.

In relation to the provision of eServices, City of Canada Bay Recreation Centres will store personal information collected from its website on secure servers protected in controlled facilities and/or in other internal controlled facilities. Only  City of Canada Bay Recreation Centres and its members, employees and agents will use the personal information collected on the  City of Canada Bay Recreation Centres website unless the law authorises or requires otherwise.

If you are aged 16 or under, you must obtain the consent of your parent or legal guardian before submitting any personal information through this website. The Centres do not knowingly collect personal information from minors without appropriate consent.
