Why gymnastics?
Our gymnastics programs focus on providing a safe and fun environment for children and adults to develop coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, speed, and discipline. Gymnastics is known for being one of the best activities to help young children develop fundamental skills in coordination, movement and balance.
Five Dock offers age-appropriate recreational classes where gymnasts learn fundamental skills and movement patterns across all apparatus, including vault, bars, beam, floor, trampoline, and men’s apparatus. Boys’ classes place a greater focus on rings, parallel bars and pommel.
Classes follow a progressive term and annual plan, supporting skill development, confidence and ongoing improvement. Sessions focus on building strength, coordination, balance and overall gymnastics ability, with opportunities to participate in events such as Gala Days throughout the year.
Our gymnastics programs run 48 weeks out of the year (includes school holidays) with no regular classes running over the 4 week Christmas/New Year break or on public holidays. Five Dock Leisure Centre also offers competitive squad training and some recreational programs during school holidays.
